The most caring child

Help Comes In Many Forms ...

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he
was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the
most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next
door neighbour was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard,
climbed onto his lap and just sat there. When his mother asked him what
he had said to the neighbour, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped
him cry."

Sometimes, children are unexpected in some ways, aren't they? :D I wonder what made him think and do that.

I think kids and animals are a lot more perceptive and intuitive than we ever give them credit for.

I just came across your blog on trafficbunnies. I find it real hard to fake life. I am a doctor also who struggles with depression. I find it so hard to pretend to be ok when I am falling apart. I have people dumping on me all day long and I want to dump back, but can't. :( HELP!!!!!

As a physician, you are in a position where strength and stoicism is expected at all times, but that is not possible for any human being. You need an outlet, a place to "dump" as you put it. Blogging is helpful for me. So is seeing a therapist. Find a safe place to express yourself where you can be yourself without fear of judgement. You can always leave anonymous comments here, if that helps you. I am willing to help you in anyway that I can. The most important thing, though, is DON'T GIVE UP!
